About the Author
Donna Couchenour is a Professor of Early Childhood Education in the Teacher Education Department at Shippensburg University. A member of the NAEYC Professional Development Panel, she received her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Ohio State.
Kent Chrisman is Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education in the Teacher Education Department at Shippensburg University. He received his Ed.D. in Educational Supervision at the University of Louisville, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Early Care and Education State Advisory Committee as well as the Pennsylvania TEACH Advisory Board.

A satisfied Student

This book helped me to see families as a whole as opposed to just working with the child in an early childhood program. I recommend this book to both teachers and students working and or studying in early childhood programs. It's an informative book with web resources that are available for families to help them with all their needs; it also serves as a reference book for teachers. This book provides the professional educator the tools necessary to create and maintain a relationship with the child, families, and community.
