HILARIOUSLY AWESOME!

What a great book. It’s a fantastic story, and it’s going to help a lot of people change their lives. Every story is hilarious and educational, and has a solid beginning, middle and end. Every chapter is a surprise. You never know where you’re going to end up or what’s going to happen. It’s like someone telling you stories at a bar. They’re not in order, and one adventure or life lesson doesn’t always lead to the next one structurally. But it’s not a textbook. It’s a book of stories, and I like never knowing what’s going to come next.

The stories reveal Reggie’s life philosophy piece by piece, and so even though they’re random (in time, by subject), they all add up to the major thing, all working together toward a big theme about how to live life (women, travel, work, family, etc). And what I love about it is that it reflects the way we actually construct a life philosophy: seemingly random events all add up to a big moment where we’re like ‘oh! this is how you’re supposed to live.’ And it’s not just about the sex — so much of it is about how to live an adventurous and happy life.

The chapters about random girls add up to major lessons about how to approach women, people in general, life and business. Even the most basic girl chapter, like the first one, has a ton to say about confidence and how one acts in order to get what one wants. There are totally funny chapters, like the angry dad with the sword, and then there’s the chapters about him, like Reggie the Rapist. This chapter is key because it lets people get to know him. Most people would never, never tell this story, but because he tells it, the reader has no choice but to believe and trust him, and the big lesson is super important: If you stand out, people are going to come after you. Ignore them.

So everything is just a part of the big lesson. All in all, this guy is a sex and philosophy hero, and his way invites surprise and adventure into life. I’m biased, because I LOVE it. After chapter one, you’re either going to throw the book away and hate him forever, or you’re going to read and love every single word, because hanging out with Reggie is so much fun.

The book had me in tears of laughter all the way through and and provided an insight into a way of life we all dream about - but never quite have the balls to reach out and grab! Regev lives the life you want, and inspires you to do it for yourself.

Perhaps the Greatest Leader of the 20th Century

I have always been a fan of Sir Winston Churchill who I consider to have been perhaps the greatest leader of the 20th century. His life from his privileged childhood and his tortured relationship with his father to his exile from government following WWI and his ultimate return as Prime Minister is a fascinating story. It is not an understatement to say that his leadership may well have saved western civilization from the grip of the Nazis.

Alan Axelrod's well-written book presents a biography of Churchill structured around 25 key leadership lessons gleaned from his life. Following a brief introduction the author divides the book into 25 chapters illustrating the following leadership lessons:

Never give up. Never give up. Never, never, never give up!

I didn't take notes as I listened, but apparently Mr. Dobbs in his August 09 review paid rapt attention to the lessons for future CEO's & businessman. I couldn't hope to duplicate that. I'm not a CEO or business person but that did not diminish in any way my enjoyment of a very good biography. Its lessons for leadership are very well integrated into Churchill's life history. He is the most influential, greatest, western individual of the 20th century. A driving force, always desirous to be in on the action, his was an ego-driven, "look at me" attitude. He not only wrote history, he made it. He was a battle tested veteran of many wars but his most important tool was words. He wielded the English language in print & in speech like a precision weapon. Alan Axelrod favors us with many quotes from the great man which we have heard all our life. The stories are lively & germane to his subject, 25 lessons. Well done.

Neatly blending historical events with leadership principles, Axelrod creates a thought-provoking and insightful look at the life and precedents set by Winston Churchill.

Starting with essential background, the author lays out the main subject's character and events that shaped it. He opens a door to the time period and it's mindsets, setting a clear stage for what is to come. After that, chapters are neatly arranged around core principles; each is exemplified by an event or period of Churchill's life, and the modern application of such a principle to CEOs and businesses is expounded.

The author writes extremely well; the language flowed smoothly and was easy to follow and become immersed in while remaining powerful and authoritative. I didn't feel like there was much in the way of a conclusion, but the book as a whole was an excellent read and well worth anyone's time.

31 Abstract Grumpy Cat Designs – printed one side of the page

[[VIDEOID:a8cf977cf90803fe19464ce1ec78ec84]]Grumpy Cat has such a cute little face, I knew that I would have fun coloring in a book dedicated to her. While I'm sure Grumpy Cat is a sweet kitty, her face seems to show superior attitude all of my cats have exhibited towards me over the years. I've had cats as pets for most of my adult life and recently lost my last kitty to old age at age 19 years. I miss my little friends from over the years and coloring kitties is my way of remembering them.

Grumpy cat is the central theme of each of the designs. In some designs, there are abstract elements that surround her. They kind of remind me of a Klmit painting (another favorite of mine.) Other designs have an element or two which are floating around her in multiples. Some of the elements include sushi, junk food, fruit, and even calendar days showing Monday.

The designs are not intricate but they are detailed and include abstract parts that you have to concentrate on to color. I had a lot of fun coloring my first project which was one of the ones that seemed a little more abstract in nature.

This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the paper. In the comments section below, I will list the coloring medium I used for testing this book and which I usually use for coloring in my books.

31 Grumpy Cat Designs with lots of doodle embellishment

Printed on one side of the page

Paper is medium weight, white, lightly rough and perforated

Glue bound but you can easily remove pages at the perforation at perforations

Designs stop before the perforations

Alcohol and water based markers bleed through to some degree

Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page

Coloring pencils work well with this paper. Both wax and oil based pencils lay down good color, layer and blend well. Hard lead pencils leave dents on the back of the page.

I usually take my pages out of these books for coloring. I suggest that or that you use a blotter page of card stock or several sheets of heavy weight paper to keep ink from seeping further into the book.

Great coloring book for art and Grumpy fans.

I absolutely love this coloring book. I am grateful that the artist who created the art for me to color is a true artist! He also does a great job playing homage to some famous artists, such as Klimt.

Of course, he does a great homage to Grumpy herself, who I just adore.

My only complaint is that the paper is a tiny bit thin and some markers bled through. Be sure to put a piece of paper behind whatever you are coloring to make sure this doesn't happen.

Is it wrong to love Grumpy Cat so much?

Really, I'm a total Grumpy Cat fan, and this coloring book is awesome, showing Grumpy Cat in any number of situations that make her look even more adorably disgruntled. I'm having a total blast with this book! Plus the pages are perforated, so when I finish a picture it's easy to tear out for proud display on the fridge. I'm almost finished it, actually, so I'm hoping to find a new Grumpy Cat coloring book on the market soon. Yes, you should absolutely get this book!

He received his Ed.D. in Educational Supervision at the University of Louisville, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Early Care and Education State Advisory Committee as well as the Pennsylvania TEACH Advisory Board.

A satisfied Student

This book helped me to see families as a whole as opposed to just working with the child in an early childhood program. I recommend this book to both teachers and students working and or studying in early childhood programs. It's an informative book with web resources that are available for families to help them with all their needs; it also serves as a reference book for teachers. This book provides the professional educator the tools necessary to create and maintain a relationship with the child, families, and community.
