SHE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE. WHY???

I could not put this book down. I had to see what was going to happen. I was so excited when Sabrina met Tim. But when she caught pushing Tasha on him I knew what was going to happen I just didn’t know when. I was on pins and needles waiting for them to hook up. Sabrina was a hot mess but I know plenty hot messes. I knew this book was just fiction but when I was reading it, it was like I was right there with popcorn and Raisinets. So much drama, loved it. This isn’t my first book by this author but it is my favorite thus far.

overkill and errors

I think that the author should get an editor for future books. It is distracting to see so many errors. I also had a hard time with the justification for Sabrina's abhorrent behavior. She wasn't abandoned, abused or neglected, yet she had "daddy issues." That's an insult to those that truly are dealing with daddy issues. And finally, the being a doormat for friends and lovers alike was overkill. It's hard to make a reader dislike a character that is supposed to be the protagonist, but I was almost there by the end of the book. Please don't lay it on so thick in future books.

Don't get fooled by the free sample. It starts out really good but fizzles out quick once you actually buy the book

For a book that cost 3.99 it sure did have a lot of editing errors. I was hooked after reading the sample but half way through the book the characters really started getting on my nerves. Especially Tasha, whom for all intents and purposes is supposed to be "the good friend". In essence she is just a martyr and a doormat. She allows Sabrina to boss her around and she stays in a relationship with a man who obviously doesn't love her and is using her for three years, while she is lusting after her friend's husband. The author also needs to do a better job of describing her characters looks. All I know about Sabrina was that she was beautiful and had brown eyes. Tasha had thick hair and green eyes. Tim had brown hair (I think) and grey eyes? But how tall were they? what body type did they have? I felt as if I was reading about a bunch of faceless people. For a book that was 220 pages it sure did dragggggg big time towards the end. This was my first and will most assuredly be the last book I read by this author.

Excellent book to practice French reading

Excellent book for my 5-year old daughter to practice reading in French since there are typically only one to three short lines on each page. While my daughter grew up with both French and English at home, this would be a good book for someone learning French as well (very basic vocabulary and sentences).

Great minds,...think in Violet

I remember my mother reading this to me, (Harold and the Purple Crayon, is the name of the English version). I read it to my oldest two (now in their 20's), I bought it for my youngest two, they love it also,...so I was overjoyed to find it in French for my non-English speaking niece from Canada. Yay! This book seems so simple when you first open it,...but watch how your child's imagine runs with it as you (or they) read it. It's kind of a must have for your child's at-home-library, if you ask me.

Beautiful story

This was a beautiful, touching, gripping story! I loved Phillip and Vance and how they came to be together, the premise of them meeting at the gym and how everything else would unfold, from Phillip revealing his past, and introducing his new man to his twin brother's family, to the very way Renee Stevens chose to end this novel.

Children being kidnapped by one of their parents happens more often than you'd think and how the matter was handled in the book was brilliant. We have a gay man trying to be what he's not by marrying a woman, we have a mom kidnapping her children, we have two twin brothers losing their parents because one of them is gay, a desperate father obsessed with finding his children, yet all of these negativity is handled in a way that the love, commitment, and hope of the people involved in this story breathe through every page.

I cried, I smiled, and I laughed, but in the end, all I wanted was to see Philip and Vance happy, getting everything they deserved. No More Hiding tells a truly beautiful story and I think you should all give it a try.

Not for Me

The whole "I know I'm gay but mom and dad would never accept me so I jave to get married" prologue is unbelievable. The idea that a gay gym could hide the fact that its members were gay just by having the members sign a "non-disclosure agreement" is ridiculous. From there, the story just goes downhill. Too much angst, and hand-wringing, and hidden feelings for me to endorse the story.

On a cool Fall morning in 1952, Marlene was born in the city of Montreal and she is the third to the youngest of seven children (The Pacholka Family). She grew up in the suburbs of Chateauguay, Quebec, Canada and loved the outdoors. She joined the local girl's hockey team, played baseball in the summer and learned ballet, piano, and sang in the choir. She learned to love music and read books from an early age reading 2-3 books a week thinking someday she would love to get involved in her own novel.
Her mother, Margaret Pacholka, was a school teacher for many years and she taught 4 grades in one class in French and English. She dedicates her accomplishments to her, because she always taught her to read from an early age. Her father worked in aerospace for most of his life, and in 1965 they moved to California. She followed his footsteps and worked in aerospace for almost ten years. She dedicates her enthusiasm to live life to its fullest from her dad. She then went into the finance industry and studied business and law at La Verne University. She has two lovely children Dan and Michelle, and one grandchild who have made her very proud that she holds close to her heart.�

She presently owns the book Galaxy Watch The Galacteran Legacy (on Amazon) authored by Michelle Izmaylov that financing has been arranged for the screenplay written by Marlene Mendoza and G. R. Holton. It is scheduled for after "The Mob" movie now in pre-production scheduled for release late 2014 or early 2015.�

Marlene Mendoza is a film producer with Gilt Entertainment. She has a Master's of Science in Management (Leadership), (Summa cum Laude 4.0) and a Bachelor's of Science in Management (Sales and Marketing). She is a Certified Risk Management Specialist.

On a warm summer morning in 1962, G. R. Holton was born in a little town in Massachusetts. He is now happily married and living in eastern Tennessee with his wife Charlotte, his mom, and the family dog Pugston. He has two daughters, one son, a step-daughter, and a step-son. He is also blessed with four beautiful granddaughters. Becoming fully disabled due to Bipolar Disorder and after reading some screenplays for a friend, he knew what had to be done. He sat down at his computer and over the course of three months, he had written his first book, “Journey to the Edge.” He knew he couldn’t stop there, so he continued writing and before the year was up he completed, “Guardians Alliance.” After a split with his first publisher, He reworked “Journey to the Edge” and has now released “Soleri.” He is now an award winning author, actor, and screenwriter entitled “Teleported” based on his novella, “Soleri.” You can follow his works at http://www.grholton.com and via twitter @GRHolton and on Facebook Author Bob GR Holton.

The Mob

Maria is the apple of her father's eye from the moment she enters the world in 1915. With each passing year, she grows closer to the man and an unbreakable bond forms between the two. So when, at the age of ten, she sees her father brutally gunned down on the steps to their apartment building, she knows what she must do. Even at that young age, she knows she must, and will, avenge his death; for she has seen the face of the killer. One has to wonder what plans she is forming as she grows into womanhood.

GR Holton and Marlene Mendoza spin an interesting tale; one of corruption during the prohibition years and the mob's continued dirty dealings into the thirties.

An amazing ride

The Mob will keep you on the edge of your seat as you read and find out just how she's going to repay the mob for her father's death. If you're looking for a story that will keep you turning pages as you wait to see how all the intricately laid lines come together, this is the book for you. Highly recommended.

Best book i have read in some time

I am a big fan of books about the Mob. This is one of the best books i have read since The Godfather. This book kept my attention from start to finish. The ending was bittersweet ....sad and happy at the same time. This author is amazing. I am looking forward to reading more of his books. Not only is the author a great author, he has become a very good friend of mine. I highly recommend this book that is a fan of any books dealing with the mob.

Fun for a nerdy parent

As a computer science major, I backed this project on Kickstarter, then bought another here for a friend (and his toddler). I like how each letter has a drawing for a "normal" word beginning with that letter, as well as info on a programming language that it maps to. I'm not sure it'll be planting any STEM seeds, but it's more fun for me than the typical "A is for Apple" style book. Plus, it's a very high quality, well printed board book, so it holds up well to the fiercest page turns.

Cute and Informative

Programming geeks! Do you have trouble describing to your children what it is you do at work all day? Why not show them, while also strengthening their ABCs and getting them interested in programming?

This is a really cute book! Each page contains “Hello World” code, adorable illustrations, and trivia about the featured programming language. While it’s geared toward younger kids, even older kids can enjoy compiling each code sample and researching other languages that start with each letter. Heck, I’m a programming adult and I still learned a lot from it.

You’ll have a hard time deciding whether to leave the book at home with the kids, or display it in your office cubicle for fellow geeks to pore over. :)

The most important book on sound in 150 years.

When R. Murray Schafer first published TUNING OF THE WORLD (the subtitle of this edition) in 1977, it had a stunning and lasting affect on musicians and recordists throughout the world. Every facet of this work is important to know about and the narrative still reads like a contemporary novel - impossible to put down and never dated. He informs us how to re-train our ears to listen better and more wisely. He defines, for the first time, the soundscape and the myriad ways it fits into and affects our lives.

This book is seminal to my work as a naturalist and sound designer and I have read it many times in the past three decades. It is that important.

I read the first edition 20+ years ago and have always since tried to turn my musician friends on to it. If you compose, produce or do any type of sound design the info in this book is essential. It really opened my ears and my mind. Great book.
